Every picture we take will be viewed by you during your session. This allows immediate feedback from you so the photographer can fix problems or concerns you may have during the shoot, rather than after. Our goal is to get the best possible images of you during your time, so being able to view and then select your favorite headshots will ensure your satisfaction.
Natural is the key word here. Nobody wants to look like a porcelain doll or be told they don't look like themselves because of poor retouching. We use our photshop skills wisely. Your photos will receive the proper treatment so that you have a headshot you are proud of. The best version of you just "refreshed". If you have specific retouching concerns, we can discuss them during your session.
Quite literally, the most important part of your headshot is the expression. We will make sure you are expressing your personality the way you want to in your images. We will show you the difference between your expressions and the effects they can have with people's perception. We will make sure you look genuine, approachable and confident, leaving you extremely satisfied.
You will here the photographer say: "Do you have a side you like best?" For most people, its the left side, or the side you part your hair on is also an indicator. Everyone has a sweet spot where they look their best. Finding your angle is a big step in making sure you look good in your headshot. We have tricks to reduce the ‘double chin’ effect, and we will teach you about how body language is perceived. Details are super important as well, like fixing necklaces, stubborn curls and collars or stray hairs.

As a guy who doesn't necessarily enjoy getting his picture taken, the experience I had at Blosser's with Desiree for my professional headshots was nothing less than top notch. She was able to make the experience as quick and comfortable as possible (comfortability was huge for me), and not to mention the final product was absolutely fantastic. Look, we get it. We really do. Nobody "likes" getting photographed, especially when its been awhile. Headshots are personal and can get awkward real quick. Remember tho, the key is to be yourself, relax and let those insecurites melt away while we direct you and get a little laughter going. Don't over think it, let us guide you and you'll find that everyone is capable of looking great in pictures with the right photographer.
Almost every single person we have ever photographed needs guidance on some level on what to do in front of the camera. It's our job as your photographer to create an atmosphere that relaxes you, gives you space and freedom to be yourself. I love to laugh so creating humor together is part of my process and will help take your mind off having your picture taken. This will allow us to capture natural reactive expressions.
